I am a tutor living in Norfolk, Virginia. I am available for private instruction in many different subjects, and I hope to provide services that are personal, affordable, and convenient. Since I've started tutoring, I've enjoyed getting to know my students, embraced the challenge of finding the best way to help each one, and celebrated every improvement. Outside of academics, I am a horn player with the Virginia Symphony.

I've worked as a math tutor at Mathnasium for three years, where I've gotten a lot experience with students from Kindergarten through 12th grade. I'm very familiar with the best techniques for teaching mathematics at many different levels. I've worked with many students on SAT and ACT preparation, all of whom have seen improvements in their scores. I've also done some private tutoring in algebra, geometry, calculus, and study skills and organization. My main education is in music performance. I have four years of experience as a French horn teacher, working with students in grades 6-12. I enjoy the variety of teaching these different subjects.
Academics have always been important to me. I was in the top 5% of my high school graduating class and was active in many Advanced Placement classes. I passed eleven A.P. tests and received top scores on seven of them (World History, Calculus BC, Physics C: Mechanics, Physics C: Electricity and Magnetism, Macroeconomics, U.S. Government, and Psychology). My SAT scores were in the 98th percentile. I graduated with High Distinction (Magna Cum Laude) from Indiana University and went on to earn my master's degree from Rice University.
